Elder/Pastor
Pastor Joe Thibault joined us as our pastor in June of 2021. Pastor Joe previously served as the camp director for Malagash Bible Camp in Malagash Nova Scotia and as the Youth Pastor for Summerside Baptist church in Summerside PEI.
Joe came to know the Lord in junior high after an invitation to a youth ministry evening at Temple Baptist Church in Lower Sackville. Joe went home that evening after hearing the gospel for the very first time. After a call to ministry in grade 12 Joe enrolled in New Brunswick Bible Institute and received a Bachelors of Theology from Covington Theological Seminary.
Joe is married to Jamie and has 3 children, Micaiah (8) , Mackenzie (5) and Josaiah (4).
Joes favorite bible verses are :
Ephesians 1:5 ``Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,`and Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God

Church Leadership at Maranatha Bible Church
Acts 14:23, Titus 1:5-6, James 5:14,Philippians 1:1, 1 Timothy 3:1-2, 1 Timothy 2:12-13, Acts 6:2-4, 1 Timothy 3:8-13
At Maranatha Bible Church, we believe that the local church is to be led by a team of godly, qualified men who serve as Elders and Deacons, following the New Testament model. This structure is rooted in Scripture and designed to promote spiritual health, accountability, and faithful shepherding of God's people.
Elders: Shepherds of the Flock
Elders are responsible for the spiritual oversight of the church. They lead, teach, protect sound doctrine, and care for the congregation through prayer, counsel, and discipleship. We have both vocational (or preaching) elders, who are employed by the church to dedicate themselves full-time to the ministry of the Word, and lay elders, who serve in this same shepherding capacity while continuing in their secular vocations. Though their roles may differ in function and time commitment, all elders share equal authority in decision-making and spiritual leadership.
Deacons: Servants of the Church
Deacons, on the other hand, are entrusted with the physical and logistical needs of the church. They serve the body by managing resources, caring for practical needs, and supporting the ministry of the elders. While deacons do not hold teaching or governing authority, their role is vital in freeing the elders to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word.
Together, elders and deacons work in unity to care for the church body, each fulfilling their God-given roles to build up the church in love and faithfulness.
