Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches

Our Affiliation- Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada & Fellowship Atlantic.

Maranatha Bible Church is thankful to be affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada and, regionally, with Fellowship Atlantic.

We believe that the local church is God's primary instrument for carrying out the Great Commission. At the same time, we recognize the value of churches partnering together for encouragement, accountability, shared ministry, leadership development, church planting, and the advancement of the Gospel.

Our affiliation allows us to be part of something larger than ourselves while remaining committed to the ministry and mission God has entrusted to our local church.

The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada is a voluntary association of more than 500 churches located across Canada. The Fellowship is organized into five regions, allowing churches to build meaningful relationships and receive regional support while working together nationally.

The five regions are:
  • Fellowship Pacific — British Columbia and Yukon
  • Fellowship Prairies — Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut
  • FEB Central — Ontario and Anglophone Quebec
  • AÉBÉQ — Quebec, Francophone Ontario, and Francophone New Brunswick
  • Fellowship Atlantic — Atlantic Canada

Maranatha Bible Church is part of Fellowship Atlantic, our regional family within the larger Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada.

Our Region: Fellowship Atlantic serves churches primarily throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The broader Fellowship structure identifies Fellowship Atlantic as serving the Atlantic provinces, while the regional church directory currently lists congregations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

There are currently 22 congregations that make up Fellowship Atlantic. These churches are diverse in their communities, ministry contexts, and methods, but they voluntarily partner together around a shared mission: making disciples of Jesus Christ in Atlantic Canada.

What Holds Us Together? Our affiliation is not built simply around being in the same affiliation or sharing the same name. We are held together by a common commitment to Jesus Christ, the authority of God's Word, the Gospel, and the mission He has given His Church.

While individual churches may have different ministry styles, traditions, and approaches to reaching their communities, our unity is found in the truths we share.

Unity in Faith- We believe that biblical unity does not require every church to look exactly the same. Instead, Christian unity is found in our shared faith in the essentials of the Gospel and our commitment to faithfully follow God's Word.

Our churches partner together because we share a common theological foundation and a common desire to see people come to know Jesus Christ, grow as His disciples, and make disciples of others.

Unity in Doctrine- Membership in the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada requires churches to be in agreement with The Fellowship's Affirmation of Faith and to be recognized within their respective region. At the same time, Fellowship churches maintain a significant measure of local independence, with relationships built through interdependence rather than a centralized line of authority.

For Maranatha Bible Church, this means that our affiliation provides a framework of shared biblical convictions and fellowship while recognizing the importance of the local church's responsibility and authority to carry out its ministry.

Unity in Mission- We are united by more than what we believe—we are united by what we are called to do.
Together, we desire to:
  • Make disciples of Jesus Christ
  • Proclaim the Gospel
  • Strengthen local churches
  • Encourage and equip pastors and leaders
  • Plant and support churches
  • Reach our communities with the Good News
  • Advance the mission of Christ in Atlantic Canada and around the world
Fellowship Atlantic exists to provide resources and support to its congregations so they can be more effective in reaching the communities where God has placed them. The churches of Fellowship Atlantic voluntarily partner together to pursue the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ throughout Atlantic Canada.
Stronger Together for the Gospel. Maranatha Bible Church is grateful to belong to a family of churches that recognizes the value of biblical fellowship, mutual encouragement, and gospel partnership.

We are not affiliated because we believe we can accomplish God's mission by ourselves. We are affiliated because we believe there is strength in churches working together—encouraging one another, sharing resources, raising up leaders, supporting church planting, and advancing the Gospel.

Our affiliation does not replace our identity as a local church. Rather, it strengthens our ability to serve our community and fulfill the mission God has given us.

We are united by our faith.
We are grounded in God's Word.
We are committed to biblical doctrine.
We are partnered together in mission.
And we are working together for the glory of Christ.

"For we are labourers together with God."
— 1 Corinthians 3:9
