Missions Statement

Our Mission Statement
"To Make the Word of God Fully Known and to Help Make the People of God Fully Mature"

At Maranatha Bible Church, we are driven by a clear and biblical mission to proclaim the Word of God and disciple the people of God both at home and abroad. This mission statement captures the heart of everything we do: from our preaching and teaching to our outreach and ministry efforts.
We believe that the Word of God is powerful and transformative, and that the goal of every believer is to grow to maturity in Christ. This mission is rooted in Scripture and reflects our commitment to the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ.

Making the Word of God Fully Known: Our first and foremost priority is to make the Word of God fully known. We are committed to sharing the truth of God’s Word with all people—locally and globally—so that they may know Him, understand His will, and experience His grace.

Key Scripture References:
  1. Matthew 28:19-20
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
    • Jesus' command to His disciples is clear: Go into all the world and preach the Gospel. At Maranatha Bible Church, we take this mandate seriously, seeking to make the Word of God known to people both near and far.
  2. Romans 10:14-15
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”
    • We are committed to sending and supporting those who preach the Gospel, ensuring that all people have the opportunity to hear and respond to God’s Word.
  3. Colossians 1:28
“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”
    • The goal of proclaiming the Word is not just to share information, but to teach and admonish, so that people may become mature in their faith and grow in their relationship with Christ.
  4. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
    • The Word of God is sufficient to equip us for every good work. Our mission is to ensure that people understand and apply the Word of God in their lives.
Helping the People of God Fully Mature: Our second priority is to help make the people of God fully mature. This involves not just evangelism, but also discipleship—helping believers grow in their faith, understanding, and obedience to God’s Word.
Key Scripture References:
  1. Ephesians 4:11-13
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
    • The goal of discipleship is to help believers grow into the fullness of Christ. The church’s role is to equip the saints for service and spiritual maturity.
  2. Colossians 2:6-7
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”
    • Spiritual maturity requires believers to be rooted in Christ and continually built up in the faith. At Maranatha, we emphasize the importance of growing deeper in our relationship with Jesus.
  3. 1 Peter 2:2
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.”
    • Just as infants grow by feeding on milk, Christians grow spiritually by feeding on God’s Word. We believe in the power of continual learning and application of Scripture in our daily lives.
  4. Hebrews 6:1
“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.”
    • Spiritual maturity calls us to move beyond the basics and grow in our knowledge and application of the full counsel of God.
  5. 2 Peter 3:18
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.”
    • Maturity is a lifelong process of growing in grace and knowledge. We are committed to helping believers progress in their walk with the Lord, becoming more like Christ each day.

Our Global and Local Commitment: Our mission is not limited to one location or one group of people. Whether at home or abroad, we are called to make the Word of God fully known and help the people of God fully mature.
  • At Home: In our local community, we are committed to preaching the Word of God, teaching sound doctrine, and providing opportunities for believers to grow spiritually through Bible studies, small groups, and ministry involvement.
  • Abroad: We believe the Gospel is for every nation and people group. Therefore, we actively support mission work around the world, sending missionaries and supporting global initiatives that focus on spreading the Gospel and discipling believers in underserved areas.

Why This Mission Matters: At Maranatha Bible Church, we believe this mission is the heartbeat of every believer's life. It’s not just something for pastors and missionaries; it’s a call for all of us to engage in spreading the Word of God and growing in our faith. Our vision is that every person who walks through our doors will know Christ more deeply, be equipped to live for Him, and be empowered to share His message with the world.
